Easter 2011
We hosted an Easter Party and had about 10 kids running around. They were cute! We decorated cookies and had a very quick egg hunt due to rain. What crazy person thought of this wonderful, fun and messy idea? See photo below.

Disneyland!!!!!!
We recently spent 2 days at Disneyland. March 11th and 18th. Mike went to L.A. for business and Nick and I went along to play! We had so much fun and cannot wait to go again soon!
I had to start with the end of Day 1. We got Nick into the car and he sleepily said, "I had fun at Disneyland."
Our friend, Todd, lives in Long Beach. He spent both days at Disneyland with us acting as our tour guide, camera man and way cool friend!
Getting ready to watch Captain EO. Nick loved the 3D show and reached out a couple times at whatever seemed to be flying our way. There was an icky character in the show and Nick said "that lady with all the tangly things is bad." But he really seemed to have fun with it!

We did the Character Breakfast at the Plaza Inn. So fun!

Right now, if someone asks Nick what his name is, his reply is " My pretend name is Dash, but my real name is Nick." Nick, I mean Dash, got to spend some time with Mr. Incredible! Yes, he has worn his super suit every day since he got it from Santa. EVERY day....It currently has two holes in it, many runs, unravels and is about 3 inches too short in the legs and sleeves.....

Ear muffs...
We have been reading "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" from Fantasia for a while before heading to Disneyland. Nick loved seeing the brooms from the book!
An attempt at a family photo in Mickey's house. I like this photo because Nick and I both appear to have broken wrists..
Toon Town, calling Mickey Mouse.

Cotton Candy time....mmmmm....pure sugary sweetness!
This was my first time to Disneyland too! Mike has been before as a child and "adult". Ha ha. It was so fun for both of us to see everything through Nick's eyes. Many times I almost cried because he was having so much fun and his face was so bright with happiness!

Tigger and Pooh! Nick had so much fun. They were so playful with Nick, he had a cookie he was not going to give up!

The jungle cruise ride. This was the first ride we went on in Disneyland. Nick really enjoyed all the rides. His favorite ride was the ladybug ride at the "A Bug's Life" section of Disneyland. It's similar to the teacups ride, which we also went on.
Nick is such a ride person. He patiently (for a 3 1/2 year old) waited in all the lines with us and was eager for each and every ride.
Rides/shows Day 1: Nemo Submarine (Nick really liked this), chat with crush, Winnie the Pooh's ride, Ladybugs, Jungle cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean (he didn't like the loudness, but did great anyway) and the muppets 3D show.
Rides/shows Day 2: Mr. Toads adventure, Pinocchio ride, Carousel, Alice in Wonderland, Matterhorn, Storybook Land, It's a small world, Teacups, Captain EO, Francis Ladybug ride, Heimlich's chew chew train, Tuck and roll bumper cars.
Yep, Nick met the height requirement for the Matterhorn so we went for it. This was right after Nick and I went on the teacups and he made me spin us around as fast as I could and he laughed the entire time. So we thought, let's try something bigger. Nick did great, he plugged his ears due to the expectation of the ride being loud, I held onto him tight...and I screamed and laughed the whole ride. Nick kept saying to me the duration of the ride, "It's okay mommy! I love you!" It was great! He was reassuring me!
On It's a small World, Nick loved the singing. He sang the entire ride, but not the "It's a small world" song, he sang Taylor Swifts "Love story" song. It's his current favorite and he knows all the words.
The end of both days we stayed for the fireworks. The second day Nick sat on Mike shoulders and waved his hands around like Mickey in Fantasia when Mickey is dreaming about being a sorcerer. Nick was pretending he was setting off the fireworks, he's wiggle his fingers way out in front of him or pretend he'd have a wand and was pointing it at the sky. I think Nick definitely felt the magic of Disneyland, and so did we.

February Fun
Yep, the superhero suit is still a favorite....
Mid February we went to Klamath Falls for a quick weekend visit and to play in the snow. Nick loves the snow and loves a good snowball fight. He's a lousy shot, but can take a hit pretty well.

Newest Edwards family member, Camden born December 20th. And proud Grandma Jan.
Goofing around with Great Grandma!
February 24th Corvallis received snow of its own! We had a snow day on a thursday which was very welcome! February 23rd, Staci, Emily, Jefferson and Nick were all mine for two days. Jefferson's little sister had a medical emergency and Jeff got to sleep over for two nights. (Cora is healthy now) The boys had tons of fun and Emily and Staci kept them entertained on the no school day. We had snow ball fights, played play-doh, decorated cookies, played with crafts and ran around a lot.

Jefferson ever so carefully and painstakingly sprinkled a tiny bit of every type of sprinkle I offered. He really took his time and make the perfect cookie, then he took only one bite....

February Funnies:
Nick told me that he works. When I asked him where he worked, he replied "HP". When I asked how many days he worked, he told me "8 days a week". I asked him what he does at HP, he said "I fix tools".
Nick didn't want to nap at Grandmas and Grandma told him that if he didn't nap that she couldn't take her nap either. So Nick cooperated and went to sleep. From what we can gather we think the following events occurred while Nick was still groggy. Nick may have pooped in his sleep and then woke up a little and tried to deal with it himself because he didn't want to wake grandma. He took off his jammies and got poop on his hands, so he tried to wipe it off on the blanket, then he went in the closet and tried wiping it off on the wall. He got the poop on the toilet somehow and tried to wipe it off, on the wall. Then he finally went upstairs and realized Grandma wasn't sleeping, but was in the loft. By this time some of it was dried on him. Nick is very picky about smells and cleanliness, so we know he didn't to this on purpose. Grandma had to put him in the shower and then clean the mess. Poor Grammy!
Nick found a dead lady bug and this is our conversation:
Nick "Know where I'm going to put her?"
Me "Where?"
Nick "In your purse"
Me "No, lets put her outside."
Nick then hugs and kisses her before placing her in a plant.
Nick "I kissed and hugged her"
Me "I know, that was really sweet"
Nick "I love her and her name is Toddy"
Nick again "Why did she die?"
Me "She came in the house to get warm, but we didn't have the right food for her"
Nick " I know what we'll feed her, Mashka food"
Me "That's sweet, but I don't think she'll eat it"
Nick "If I love her enough she'll come back to life"
Me "That's really sweet the way you think"
Nick "Know what I'll do when she comes back to life?"
Me "What?"
Nick "I will set her on fire, put her in soup and eat her."

January memories
We started of January with a cold, boo hiss!!!! Nick did look very cuddly on the couch though.

Nick and Grandpa watching the Incredibles, of course....
Little Gym beach theme day, Nick wore his swimsuit and swimshirt over his jammies. He thought it was fun!
Had a nice day late January, perfect for a walk and finding bugs, sticks and leaves.

January funnies:
Nick has worn his superhero suit every day since Christmas....
Nick likes to play "waiter" and take our orders when we are out to eat. The conversation goes a little like this,
Nick "what would you like for dinner?"
Me "Pizza"
Nick "We are out of pizza"
Me "How about fries?"
Nick "I just ate them all"
Me " How about a milkshake?"
Nick "We ran out"
Me "What do you have?"
Nick "Water"
